I lost my purse today…*vents*
At college today I drove all the way home only to find that I don’t have my purse! So I drove back. I retraced my steps and of course I did not find it, not even in in lost and found. I’m pretty sure someone picked it up and walked off with it…which I think is a disgrace.
I had some money it it, probably no more than 30$ (like if I ran out of gas and need some to get home). But otherwise I don’t carry much money with me, so no loss there. But I also lost my Driver’s License and am sending in to get a replacement. I also had my flash drive in there…Then I had other little odds and ends in my bag that I wish I hadn’t lost. I had a class ring and two bracelets, and it is stupid but I miss them. The class ring was valuable, but the two bracelets were my favorite (one was a kitty bracelet), still no more than 10$ each…and I had a bahamas penny and a Singapore coin (I just thought these were cool and got them when I received change back and kept them.) I know these things are not so valuable but they were valuable to me….
I figure someone took the money and ran with the purse? But why would they want little things that mean things to me and not to them? I don’t know how people who do that sleep at night! One day I bought a carton of milk at a store and was charged less than the price. I figured this out once I took the receipt and milk to my car…it was only 5-10 cents, but I still went back in and gave them the money.
I guess it isn’t so bad, I mean no one was hurt but it really is wrong that people don’t follow the rules of ownership these days…
Most people are honest. Just like you. Maybe it will show up. I had a purse that was found “lost in the mail” months after I lost it. I had already changed everything. Someone found it. Money was gone, but they must have chucked it in a mailbox. I had to go downtown to retrieve it. They said you wouldn’t believe what is found in mailboxes.
Good luck.

Thanks, I do hope it turns up but I doubt it. My mom and I ran all over campus looking for it, she was even looking in trash cans just in case…
I don’t care if the money is gone, really. I would just love my jewelry back (stupid but true)
I’m sorry you had this experience. It always makes me feel bad when someone does something like that to me. You feel so ‘let down’. It hurts my feelings. I know that sounds strange, but it does.
I know, I am “let down”. You do things for other people but it never comes back to you? Why?
My mom found a purse in a bathroom once, she did not look inside, she just took it to the cafeteria, and explained she found it and no one was in the bathroom.
Later she heard a girl freaking out about having lost her purse, everything (like credit cards, money and stuff) was inside. My mom told her she had just found a purse and to go ask the workers in the cafeteria because that was where she sent it…
it’s like you help people like this so you expect it to come around to you…but it doesn’t
I feel better now…I guess I didn’t lose anything I can’t buy again. I can’t find the kitty bracelet online, but I found my blue bracelet (an my nieces are selling jewelry again, I bought those items from them)
of course I can’t replace the class ring…I just loved wearing that ring because I hadn’t been able to wear it in years (because of my weight) but when I remembered it was in my jewelry box last week, I checked it out and it slid right on…it just made me feel good because years ago it was too small and now it fit…
Just saw your blog…any update on the purse?
Yes, apparently someone found my purse, but they took it to the police station! The police called me this morning, I had them send it back to the college lost and found because…I am unfamiliar with that area and don’t know where the police station is.
Apparently everything is there, he said my license is in there and also my money (apparently they counted it)
So now it is at the college and I will be able to get it tomorrow before class. I am so relieved!
So glad you found it! That is a sick feeling!

I am so happy for you….. it renews your faith in the goodness in others. It happened to me, and I was so happy that someone cared enough to turn it in, and all my stuff was there, too. Enjoy wearing that ring now.
